The question of purpose

Although Astrology can answer the question of purpose, it is a long-winded and complex answer to provide and one you can only provide after a detailed analysis of a birth chart.

Choosing your career according to Astrology

The choice of career according to Astrology is also something complex and the exact answer for you will depend on your exact birth chart, but there are definitely some answers we can provide based on certain placements and aspects in your birth chart. In this post, we will overview how your birth chart planets by house placement influence your career suitability and choices.

Choosing your career based on Astrology houses

If you have an emphasis on the following houses:

1st House: You need a job that allows you to be the one calling shots and taking initiative. Being stuck at a job that does not allow you to take the lead or where your natural go-getter and assertive energy is not needed will slowly but surely decrease your enthusiasm and energy levels. You need a one-man-show kind of setting where you don't have to necessarily cooperate or compromise with other people.

2nd house: Money money money. If you have an emphasis on 2nd house planets, it doesn't really matter what you do for a living, often there's such a focus on money and security that whatever gives you both is what you need. The rest of the chart might give more details on what exactly is meant for you.

3rd House: People with lots of 3rd house energy tend to be very keen on thinking and communicating and typically get involved in a job that has a lot of emphasis on it. You do find a lot of content creators, marketers, writers, but also salespeople and anyone who has a career that heavily relies on connecting people and talking to people. People with 3rd house energy do struggle with being grounded and do better in work settings that are very flexible and open.

4th house: You do often find realtors with this emphasis or people that work in an area that has to do with home and families. You also find people who work from home or have a business that is a legacy in the family.

5th house: You need a job that either is very creative and allows you to fully express yourself, or you need a job that is heavily focused on relationship-building, being part of a tribe and community or creating a sense of tribe and community.

6th house: People with plenty of placements in their 6th house typically do well in a career path that is in the health and wellness industry, service industry, fitness industry, and overall in any industry that is focusing on holistic and functional matters, focused on helping others. People with 6th house planets have a high degree of attention to detail and perfectionism and do well in activities that require those. For example, it's common to find researchers and accountants.

7th house: People with lots of 7th house placements need a career where their natural ability to compromise and relate to others is valued and needed. They're not very assertive nor are they leaders so it's best to either work in union with a partner who might be more assertive or work in settings where your ability to create rapport and relationships are needed.

8th house: Several planets in the 8th house indicate a talent and a natural inclination for activities that have to do with secrecy, privacy and money management. A lot of people with these placements will work in finance and investing, psychology, or esoteric arts. Sometimes it does show up as researchers.

9th house: People with plenty of placements in their 9th house typically do really well in careers that have to do with law or teaching and academia. If it isn't one of these two, then you will find people who are involved in immigration and/or foreign affairs, and lastly, the travel industry.

10th house: With plenty of 10th house placements you find people who are either entrepreneurs or people who are connecting with an audience or the public. It could be as simple as having a career that has to do with public relations for example.

11th house: If you find an emphasis on the 11th house in your birth chart you need to either have your own business (which might involve freelancing or contracting, not necessarily full-blown entrepreneurship) or you need to work for a company whose vision and mission you completely align with. Soulless work will impact you way more than the average person.

12th house: 12th house emphasis in a birth chart is one that tends to indicate someone who will orient themselves towards compassionate activities (nursing is a common one but it can be anything) or activities that have to do with politics and public institutions, or activities that are creative, imaginative and solitary. Whatever you decide to do professionally with a 12th house emphasis, it needs to allow you to have plenty of alone time.
